PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording method, a reproducing method, and a recording and reproducing method which enable display of program relevant information even during high-speed running of a magnetic tape, to provide a magnetic tape manufactured by these methods, and to provide a magnetic recording device, a reproducing device, and a recording and reproducing device which implement these methods. SOLUTION: An input signal including video information and program relevant information is recorded on a recording track of a running magnetic tape 1, and a CTL signal having a frequency within a prescribed range, which is representative of the running speed of the magnetic tape 1 is recorded on a CTL track of the magnetic tape 1. Simultaneously with this recording operation, program relevant information is collected from the input signal, and a program relevant signal including the collected program relevant information is modulated to a frequency other than the frequency within the prescribed range which the CTL signal can take, and the modulated program relevant signal is recorded on the CTL track of the running magnetic tape 1 over the CTL signal. When the magnetic tape 1 is running (at the time of reproducing too), the program relevant signal is read by a CTL head 2 and is outputted. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
