To obtain thermal equilibrium within a furnace or kiln it is an advantage to know the heat-loss through the walls. The apparatus is for measuring the thermal flux through the wall of a rotation furnace. It consists of a temperature detector inserted onto the wall with two temps. detecting surfaces spaced along the axis of the detector with that there is the maximum temp. gradient between them. A means for determining the temps. associated with these detectors in order to plot the thermal energy flux within the wall.
