PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a character illuminating key top structure having a key top with a surface covered by a resin film, of which, whitened or transparent resin film is invisible when installed to a body of equipment of electric/electronic devices, even in the case that the resin film is whitened or become transparent caused by the concentration of force generated when molded, and the light from a light source in a body of equipment does not leak outsides except from a display pattern. SOLUTION: For the character illuminating key top structure of which, outer surface of a hollow and colored key top member, approximately formed into box-shape having an opening at an bottom surface, is covered by a resin film 6. A hole 4, punched in a shape of display pattern of a character or a mark, is arranged to an upper surface part 3 of the hollow key top member 1, and an ink layer 8 having shading property of which, color is approximately same with that of the hollow key top member 1 having shading property, is formed to the outside of the resin film 6 at the side surface 7 part of the hollow key top member 1.
