PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To operate an electronic apparatus arranged in a place where an infrared signal cannot reach directly from a dedicated remote controller by using the dedicated remote controller. SOLUTION: In step S11, the infrared operation signal corresponding to a reproduction command which is transmitted by a DVD remote controller is received and converted into an analog signal. In step S12, a carrier component is removed from the analog signal to generate a pulse waveform signal. In step S13, the pulse waveform signal is sampled to generate a digital waveform signal. In step S14, the digital waveform signal is transmitted through a network. In step S15, the pulse waveform signal is reproduced on the basis of the digital waveform signal. In step S16, an infrared carrier signal is modulated in accordance with the pulse waveform signal and is transmitted. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
