An information edition device capable of preventing user's erroneous modification of a thumbnail image indicating the content of recording information recorded on an information recording medium. The information edition device includes judgment means (8) for judging whether the thumbnail image can be modified according to modification enabled/disabled information indicating whether modification of the thumbnail image indicating the content of recording information recorded on a recording medium (1) is enabled or disabled. When the judgment means (8) judges that modification is disabled, modification of the thumbnail image is inhibited.
