PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording and reproducing apparatus arranged so as to eliminate the phase difference between an objective lens and a turntable generated at the assemble time, by constituting so that the mounting position of the turntable is adjustable. SOLUTION: The apparatus includes a deck base (10) having an opening (12) at its center, whereon an optical pickup (5) furnished with the objective lens (5a) is mounted so as movable back and forth along the opening, and a center hole (14) having a slot extended to the direction perpendicular to the moving direction of the optical pickup is formed at one side around the opening and many fastening holes (16) into which fixing screws (B) are screwed are formed around the center hole, and also includes a spindle motor (2), wherein the turntable (3) is rotatably mounted at an upper part and a bracket (20) is integrally mounted at a lower part and a center reference hole (22) is formed at a center part of the bracket, and also assembling holes (24) elongated in the direction perpendicular to the moving direction of the optical pickup are formed around the center reference hole at respective positions corresponding to the fastening holes of the deck base.
