PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a proper uniform color space in accordance with the current situation where colors are used, and to configure a uniform color space in which necessary processing quantity is reduced. SOLUTION: This uniform color space configuration processing method configuring a uniform color space in which a color difference sensed by a human being is matched with an in-space euclidean distance includes processing to store color discrimination threshold information obtained by collecting critical colors which can not be visually discriminated from a certain basic color separately obtained from a visual test for a plurality of basic colors, processing to map a basic non-uniform color space by primary rational polynomial conversion, processing to quantize the optimality of the mapped space, and processing to variously move the parameters of the primary rational polynomial conversion in order to retrieve the combination of the parameters for realizing the highest optimality.
