PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for calculating the average power consumption and the peak power consumption of a high-capacity and multiple port memory included in an LSI at a high speed and with a high degree of accuracy, and further to provide the average power consumption and the peak power consumption of the LSI at a high speed and with a high degree of accuracy. SOLUTION: Logical circuit simulation 302 is executed by using an RT net list of the entire LSI and a test pattern 301 to collect the number 303 of memory accesses. Transistor circuit simulation (or delay simulation) 305 is executed by using a transistor net list 304 of a memory section to collect current consumption 306 at memory access. Finally, by executing the calculation 307 of an average memory power consumption by using the number 302 of the memory accesses and the memory current consumption 306, an average memory power consumption 308 is obtained.
