PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contents providing method, a contents providing server used for the method and a communication system capable of stopping contents quickly, even when illegality of the contents is detected after authentication, without having to equip a function for identifying authentication keys on a cellular phone side. SOLUTION: A contents server 51 being managed by a communication carriers 5 operating a cellular phone communication network 50 and accepting in a unified way requests for acquiring contents from cellular phones 60 comprises a step of sending contents of candidates targeted for providing from an origin of contents developer 4, a step of performing authentication processing on the contents of the candidates targeted for providing sent from the developer 4 in the contents server 51 and a step of registering the contents permitted to be registered by the authentication processing in a state that the registered contents can be acquired from the cellular phone 60 via the communication network 50.
