<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve utilization efficiency of reflecting light and suppress to the minimum the possibility of forming unevenness of light on the road ahead of the vehicle or giving a glare to the driver of the opposite vehicle, even in the case the side region of the lamp light-axis in the reflecting face of the reflector is constructed of a plurality of reflecting elements in the headlamp of the vehicle with a shade. <P>SOLUTION: The light from a discharge bulb 28 is diffused and deflection reflected in the right and left direction by a plurality of reflecting elements 26s that constitute the side region A1 on the left side of a light axis Ax2 on the reflecting face 26a of a reflector 26. The horizontal cross section shape of the reflecting elements 26s1 which are closest to the light axis Ax2 in the side region A1 is made of a recessed waveform at the position s1A on the side of the light axis Ax2 and made of a protruded waveform at the position s1B on the opposite side of the light axis. Thereby, the light reflected at the position closest to the light axis Ax2 in the reflecting elements 26s1 is directed to the opposite side of the light axis Ax2 and thus it is effectively suppressed that the reflecting light from the reflecting elements 26s1 is shaded by a shade 30. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
