PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article, which reduces stimulations to the skin of a user when it comes into contact with the skin and protects the skin from any pressure mark or the like left on it by the contact. SOLUTION: A barrier sheet 8 is provided on the body-side inner surface 100 of an absorbent chassis 2. The barrier sheet 8 comprises front and rear communicating parts 27, 28 formed by both sides 34, 35 and an intermediary part 26, as well as a barrier sheet elastic member 33 for separating the barrier sheet 8 off the body-side inner surface 100. The barrier sheet 8 includes first fixation areas 40, 41 to fix the front and rear ends 24, 25 of the barrier sheet elastic members 33, a second fixation area 42 to fix a convex part 36 of the barrier sheet elastic member 33, and a third fixation part 43 to fix the barrier sheet elastic member 33 between the first and second fixation areas 40, 41 and 42.
