PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise efficiency in a medical examination by reducing the influence of an ultrasonic transmission medium (echo jelly, etc.) to be used in ultrasonic imaging on a radiation image in imaging apparatus and method for medical use for forming the image of a mammary gland and a breast by using radiation in combination with ultrasonic wave. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus for medical use includes: a radiation generating part for generating the radiation; a radiation detecting part for detecting the radiation; an imaging table arranged between the radiation generating part and the radiation detecting part; a first pressure board for pressurizing a subject between the first surface and the imaging table; an ultrasonic probe which is moved along the second surface of the first pressure board with the ultrasonic transmission medium applied thereon, scans the subject with the ultrasonic wave, and acquires the ultrasonic image of the subject; and a second pressure board for pressurizing the ultrasonic transmission medium with the first pressure board so as to obtain the uniform thickness when acquiring the radiation image of the subject after the generation of the radiation by the radiation generating part and the detection of the radiation passing through the subject by the radiation detecting part.
