<p>The present invention relates to a tunable ST connector for use in optical fibre communication, as well as tuning process by means of the same. In prior art ST connectors, as the position of a ferrule with respect to a locating key is fixed and non-adjustable, insertion loss and rejection rate in production are high. In the present invention, instead of a prior art ferrule, a tunable ring and a backbone are used, which can engage and disengage, so that by means of a special tool the tunable ring can be rotated, moving to a multiple of adjustment points, to find an optimal point, thus greatly increasing the concentricity during butting of connectors, and hence, also lowering insertion loss and enhancing the transmission efficiency of optical communication.</p> |
