摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescence element structured as having a high resolution and high rate of aperture assuring an enhanced yield of products, including an upper light emission system structure having a stable structure such that array elements and organic electroluminescence diodes are formed on different base boards so as to decrease the rate of unacceptable articles through an inspection process for each base board. <P>SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescence element is composed of a first base board, a second base board located near the first base board at a certain spacing and having a pixel region consisting of several pieces of sub-pixel regions together with the first base board, a plurality of array elements formed on the inner side face of the first base board and including a plurality of switching elements formed in the respective sub-pixel regions, a first electrode formed on the inner side face of the second base board and consisting of a transparent conductive material, an organic electroluminescent layer formed in the lower part of the first electrode, second electrodes formed in the respective sub-pixel regions in the lower part of the organic electroluminescent layer, seal patterns formed along the peripheries between the first and second base boards, and a coupling pattern to couple the second electrodes electrically with the switching elements. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
