<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fast failure switching router using an APS which effectively utilizes fast switching. <P>SOLUTION: This fast failure switching router is provided with a router A 1, a first SONET/SDH transmitting device 3a connected to the router A 1 through a working line 5 and a protection line 6, a router B 2, and a second SONET (synchronous optical network)/SDH (synchronuous digital hierarchy) transmitting device connected to the router B 2 through a working line 5 and a protection line 6, the router A 1 has an address A 11, the router B 2 has an address B 21, and a PPP link is formed in a section between an address A 1 and an address B 1. According to this configuration, time when IP transfer is stopped can be shortened at a failure because routing recalculation is not necessary when a failure occurs by an APS, fast switching operation can be performed because PPP renegotiation is unnecessary, and an IP address used by the PPP can be suppressed down to half consumption in comparison with a conventional system. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
