The invention relates to an oxygen membrane made of an oxidic material which has an oxygen diffusion coefficient of at least 10-4 cm2 s-1 and is provided with a K2NiF4 layer structure, in which at least one perovskite layer borders another layer that does not have a perovskite structure. Said oxidic material is highly oxygen conducting, particularly at temperatures ranging from 800 to 1000 DEG C, and is therefore particularly suitable for an oxygen membrane which is used at high working temperatures, for example in a catalytic reactor.
