<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery capable of inhibiting the generation of cuttings of a mix and heartwood generated when an electrode plate for a battery is cut, and reducing variations in the open circuit voltage of the battery due to a minute leak, and having excellent charge/discharge cycle characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: A low-boiling nonpolar solvent is applied to a cutter blade in cutting the electrode plate for the battery to reduce frictional heat generated on the blade edge, thus inhibiting the generation of cuttings. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
