PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems in a conventional image processing apparatus that a shadowed image cannot be converted into a white image if a part which is actually shadowed in an output image is larger than a prescribed scope, and that flotation such as a ridge formed on a part other than a center part cannot be dealt with, because a black image in the center part of an obtained image is forcibly converted into a white image within a prescribed scope and the scope of a shadowed image of an actual output image may not match the prescribed scope in some cases. SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus P is roughly constituted so as to be provided with a scanner section A, an image processing section 30 for applying various types of image processing to a read image, a storage section 70 being a memory or a hard disk drive, an operating section 60 for performing an input operation, an output section 40 for outputting an image processed by the section 30, and a control section 10 for controlling the each of the above sections.
