PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication device equipped with an illuminating antenna which illuminates while changing its illumination color, luminance, illumination interval, etc., according to various states without exerting adverse effect on antenna characteristics. SOLUTION: An insulating light guiding, scattering, and radiating member 23 is arranged in a transparent or translucent antenna head peak part protection cap 19 which is fixedly held by an engagement part of the body of a portable telephone 10. Its body part 23-1 holds an antenna 24 which has its surface roughened and is in spiral structure in a winding state, a held part and light guide-in part 23-2 is held by the antenna head peak part protection cap 19, and a light source 22 is arranged opposite an externally projecting end surface. The light source 22 is supplied with electric power from a battery through a control part without using transmitted and received radio wave, and the illumination color, luminance, and illumination interval are optionally controlled. Light which is made incident on the held part and light guide-in part 23-2 from the light source 22 is irregularly reflected by the surface of the body part 23-1, radiated while scattered outwardly, and emitted to the outer side from the antenna head peak part protection cap 19.
