PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of stably detecting a servo area mark to an optical disk of which the servo area has a specific length in the radial direction. SOLUTION: The optical disk drive is provided with a time measuring circuit 4 for detecting a time in which a light spot passes through at least a part of the servo area in the circumferential direction, a timing generator 5 for detecting timing of appearance of a servo area wobble mark based on the detected time, and a tracking error detector 7 for detecting a tracking error signal based on the reproduction signal at the timing of the detected wobble mark. Thus, the drive can easily detect the timing of the wobble mark appearance, and can also detect the tracking error signal irrespective of the revolving speed and the radial position of the optical disk.
