The cleaner, powered by a standard single-phase electric motor (1) of about 1 kW and turning at 900 - 1500 rpm with a flexible drive shaft (5) and chuck (6), consists of a bar (7) with a lengthwise slot to receive a rectangular cleaning cloth (8). The cloth is of a standard type, measuring e.g. 40 cm square and made from a material such as felt or microfibre that is absorbent and disposable. It is held in place by a fastening (9b) on the shaft end.
