PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lamp unit capable of effectively outputting a near infrared ray. SOLUTION: The lamp unit 10 for emitting the near infrared ray by discharge is equipped with a hollow discharge tube 20, a cesium compound sealed in a hollow part 22 of the discharge tube 20, and a near infrared ray transmitting filter 30 provided around the discharge tube 20. The infrared ray night vision system 100 is equipped with the lamp unit 10 having the hollow discharge tube and the cesium compound sealed in the hollow part of the discharge tube and emitting the near infrared ray 102 by discharge, a light receiving part 50 for receiving reflected light 104 based on the near infrared ray 102 emitted by the lamp unit 10, and a display part 60 for displaying an image based on the reflected light 104 received by the light receiving part 50.
