PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform confirmation of a state of a remote place by a video image even without being close to a remote monitoring device as an exclusive device in a monitoring center and to perform confirmation without developing exclusive application software in remote monitoring. SOLUTION: The remote monitoring device is provided with a video image input terminal Vi, an input terminal P for alarm signal, a still image acquisition means 24 for acquiring a still image from the video image inputted in the video image input terminal Vi, a mail transmitting means 31 for transmitting an electronic main and a control means 35 that makes the still image acquisition means 24 acquire the still image based on a fact that the alarm signal is inputted in the input terminal P for alarm signal and transmits the electronic mail with the attached still image from the mail transmitting means 31 to a prescribed mail address.
