PHOTOELECTRIC CONVERTING DEVICE AND ITS PRODUCTION METHOD

A photoelectric converting device with a semiconductor substrate of a first conductivity type having an uneven surface, comprising a semiconductor layer of a second conductivity type formed on the semiconductor substrate, a front surface electrode connected to the semiconductor layer, and a back surface electrode formed on the back surface of the semiconductor substrate. The thickness of the semiconductor layer is the greatest at the area in contact with the front surface electrode and becomes less as the distance from the area increases. Thus, a photoelectric converting device having a high reliability and an excellent photoelectric conversion efficiency is realized by a simple production process.
