PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve the problem that it is necessary to transfer large quantities of image data in order to display a picture of high definition. SOLUTION: A picture display device 5 divides one frame into a plurality of sub-frames and is provided with a pixel shift element for moving apparent pixel positions in each sub-frame and displays pictures of a plurality of divided sub-frames in order, and the picture display device 5 acquires image data which is divided into sub-fields and is rearranged, from an information processor 1 and displays pictures of the plurality of sub-frames in order on the basis of this image data.
