摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easily manufacturable electroluminescence element excellent in the flexibility and durability and assuring a good light emitting performance with a low voltage and also provide a light wave-length converting method using such an electroluminescence element. SOLUTION: The electroluminescence element is structured so that electrodes are provided on both surfaces of a laminate consisting of a photoelectric conversion layer and an electroluminescent layer, wherein the photoelectric conversion layer contains a compound expressed by the general formula (1), and the light wave-length converting method using this electroluminescence element is configured so that the electrodes are provided on both surfaces of this laminate consisting of the photoelectric conversion layer containing an electric charge generating material and the electroluminescent layer, followed by irradiation with the light of the electric charge generating material absorbing region and application of a voltage from the electrodes, whereby light is emitted from the light emitting substance.
