PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescence element of long lifetime capable of maintaining a high light emitting performance, an image forming device of long lifetime capable of maintaining a high light emitting performance, a portable terminal unit light in the weight and assuring a long service time, and also provide a method to manufacture such electroluminescence elements through simple processes, with a high easiness to conduct the works, and with a high productivity. SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescence element includes a base board 1 on which at least an anode 2 to inject holes, a light emitting layer 4 having a light emission region, and a cathode to inject electrons are provided, wherein the area of the light emission part including the light emitting layer is formed greater than the area of an opening to take out the light from the light emitting layer.
