PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording control method for an optical disk recording and playing-back device constituted so as to perform a signal recording operation to a disk by an optical pickup. SOLUTION: The optical pickup 3 is moved back so as to reproduce signals recorded in the disk D before recording interruption at the time of a recording speed changing operation and a recording operation is restarted from a recording interruption position on the basis of the synchronizing processing of reference signals for recording and synchronizing signals obtained by the signals reproduced in the optical pickup 3. Also, the position to move back the optical pickup 3 is set on the basis of time required for the change of a recording speed and the rotation speed changing operation of a spindle motor 1 which rotationally drives the disk D and the move-back operation of the optical pickup 3 are parallelly performed.
