<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smooth the insertion and extraction of a card into/from an insertion port with a small force without giving great burden onto a user. <P>SOLUTION: A pin 39 extending to a radial direction is provided on a rotating shaft 19 for rotating a feed roller and two engagement protrusions 40 each having a positive rotation transmission part 40a and a reverse rotation transmission part 40b are provided 180° apart from each other on a rotation transmission member 38 to which the rotating force of a driving motor is transmitted, to constitute a clutch means. When the user inserts the IC card 3, the feed roller and, in turn, the pin 39 are concurrently rotated in the direction of positive rotation with no resistance until they abut on the reverse rotation transmission part 40b of the engagement protrusion 40 (a, b), permitting the insertion of the IC card 3 with slight force. Then, the drive of the driving motor produces the rotation of the rotation transmission member 38 in the direction of an arrowmark f and the positive rotation of the feed roller, resulting in the IC card 3 to be carried to a reading position (c, d). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
