<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the best divided-exposure imaging for tracing type photography wherein a subject in constant motion like celestial bodies is photographed without any blur. <P>SOLUTION: A system controller 112 is provided with a parameter calculation part 112b for automatically calculating parameters needed to trace and image celestial bodies and a divided exposure control part 112c which controls the divided exposure imaging. The parameter calculation part 112b performs trial imaging a plurality of times at specified time intervals and calculates the number Nd of divisions of the divided exposure imaging, movement correction parameters for correcting position shifts between images obtained by divided exposure of the divided exposure imaging, etc., according to the result of the trail imaging.
