PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile communication method and a facsimile apparatus which charge a transmission side of polling transmission for communication when a polling reception is requested. SOLUTION: A facsimile apparatus B when receiving CIG and DTC signals sent from a facsimile apparatus A and confirming the request for polling reception sends a DCN signal to disconnect a line and then dials the telephone number of the facsimile apparatus A recognized with the CIG to establish communication with the facsimile apparatus A.
