<p>Containers are transported with at least one quay crane (10) from and/or to a ship (14) along a quay (19). The quay crane (10) has a hoisting range comprising a first vehicle-positioning strip (26) on a quay surface. Depending on whether other vehicles (16, 17) are present or not on the positioning strips, vehicles (16, 17) are instructed to drive to the first (26) or to a second (24) positioning strip. In the latter case, a stacking crane (12) is ordered to move the container between the arriving vehicle and an auxiliary stack (18) on the quay surface. The auxiliary stack (18) is wholly or partly within the hoisting range of the at least one quay crane (10), so that, without intermediacy of a vehicle (16, 17), the quay crane (10) can transport the container from or to the ship (14).</p> |
