PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel and enhanced video contents conversion system capable of converting video contents data of a large capacity into video contents data of a low capacity and transmitting/receiving the video contents data via a network without the need for maintaining and managing the video contents data.

SOLUTION: This invention provides the video contents conversion system comprising: a terminal; a conversion center server; and a network for interconnecting the terminal and the conversion center server. The conversion center server of the video contents conversion system is provided with: a storage device for storing the video contents data; a conversion processing apparatus for converting the format of the video contents data into a format designated by the terminal in response to an access of the terminal to the video contents data stored in the storage device; and a notice apparatus for transmitting notice information to either of the terminal and a group to which the terminal belongs.
