PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of enhancing the accuracy of an automatic white balancing function and preventing malfunction. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus capable of adjusting white balance of an imaged image is characterized in that it comprise: a primary detection frame setting unit for setting a primary detection frame to the imaged image; a division frame setting unit for dividing the primary detection frame to set a plurality of division frames; a peak position detection unit for detecting respective peak positions of R, G, B signals of the imaged image; a division frame particularizing unit for particularizing a division frame in which a peak position exits; and a white balance adjustment unit for adjusting the white balance on the basis of the division frame particularized by the division frame particularizing unit. Through the configuration above, since the white balance is detected while limiting the detection object area to a part close to a white level on the imaged image, the accuracy of the automatic white balance function can be enhanced.
