PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a picture capture device for capturing a still picture. SOLUTION: An extraction circuit 10a extracts at least a partial area of still picture data. A division circuit 10b divides the partial area extracted by the extraction circuit 10a into first to N-th areas. A first storage circuit 10c has a capacity smaller than the storage capacity required for storage of the still picture and stores at least a part of pictures in the first to N-th areas obtained by the division circuit 10b. A transfer circuit 10d transfers picture data stored in the first storage circuit 10c to an external device. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
