PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lower a discharge voltage, to stabilize discharge, to enhance brightness, to enhance efficiency, and to prolong a life, by an effect of impurity gas, in a plasma display panel. SOLUTION: This plasma display panel wherein a pair of substrates is arranged opposedly to form a space therebetween, of which the peripheral part is sealed with a sealing member, wherein electrodes are arranged on the substrates to generate the discharge in the space, and wherein a phosphor layer is provided to emit light by the discharge is provided with an impurity gas adsorbing process 17 for adsorbing the impurity gas other than inert gas to the phosphor layer, in prior to a sealing process 14 for sealing the peripheral part of the substrates.
