The invention relates to fibre-reinforced moulded articles, for use, for example, as doors, hoods, linings, partitions, reinforcements or brackets on car body shells, which are moulded from a flat textile structure. Said flat textile structure consists of oriented fibres in unidirectional or bidirectional layers, cut rovings or non-woven, woven or knitted fabrics, consisting of a mixture of staple fibres made of at least two materials. The moulded article comprises a matrix which comprises the resolidified product of plasticized staple fibres made of at least one first thermoplastic, and, embedded in the matrix, oriented fibres in the form of staple fibres made of at least one second material. A softening, melting or decomposition point of the staple fibres made of the second material is greater than the softening or melting point of the first material. The fibre orientation of the second material in the matrix corresponds to the fibre orientation of the flat textile structure. |
