<p>An image display comprising an arc (51) which is a white light source, an elliptical minor (52) which condenses light from the arc (51), a color filter (53) which produces the three primary color lights from the white light with time, a condenser lens (1) through which the lights transmitted through the color filter (53) are transmitted, a single spherical (2) or a nonspherical mirror (3) which reflects the lights transmitted through the condenser lens (1), a DMD (56) which the lights reflected by the mirror enter and which changes the angles of the reflected outgoing lights by changing the inclinations of the minute mirrors of a number of pixels and a projection lens (57) which expands and projects the lights reflected by the minute mirrors. The normal of the spherical mirror (2) or the nonspherical mirror (3) at the cross point with the optical axis of an illumination optical system including the arc (51), the elliptical mirror (52) and the condenser lens (1) is inclined by a predetermined angle. <IMAGE></p> |
