The valve assembly (1) has a casing (8) with the outlet opposite the inlet and internal partitions directing the fluid flow past the two valve plates (4,5). The inlet fluid flows into an annular chamber through an annular fine sieve (9) and passes on outer circular valve seat when the valve is open. It flows into the outer space between the outer and inner valve seats and flows between the inner valve seat and the valve plate on the output side. The valve plates are mounted on a spindle (6) and are spring-loaded upward into their closed position. They are pulled open by a solenoid (3) which is mounted in a gastight housing (13).
