A description is given of substituted 3-heteroaryl(amino- or oxy)pyrrolidin-2-ones of the formula (I), processes for preparing them, and their use as herbicides or as plant growth regulators. In the formula (I), A is an unsubstituted or substituted aryl; B is a direct bond or a divalent unit; V is, for example, CH2, S, or O; W is O, S, or H2; Q is a substituted or unsubstituted bridge; and D is an unsubstituted or substituted C6-aryl or heteroaryl. R<1 >and R<2 >stand for different radicals.
