PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive lifter for lifting a heavy material in installing a wall-hanging type panel such as a local panel by one worker safely without using hydraulic pressure or electricity, and capable of preventing the accidental falling during the work. SOLUTION: In the lifter, a base 1, a table 2 and an X-shaped link arm 3 are connected by the gear engagement of a rack 10 fixed to the base 1 and the table 2 with a pinion 11 rotatably attached to a pinion shaft fixed/attached at the tip of the X-shaped link arm. As a result, the movement of the X-shaped link arm 3 according to the lifting of the table 2 is left-right symmetrical, and the center of support of the lifter will not be moved.
