A cultivating implement consists of a horizontal main frame 1, a soil working rotor 4, 5, 6 mounted in cheek plates 2, 3 of frame 1 and a screening baffle, a portion 8, Fig. 2, or 55, Fig. 5, of which is attached to the cheek plates in such a way that the whole of the portion 8 or 55 is capable of deflecting away from the rotor 4, 5, 6. In a modification shown in Fig. 3 the baffle 52 is made from spring rods 46 and has an edge region immovably connected to the cheek plates 2, 3 and portions 49, 51 which are capable of yielding. As shown in Fig. 2, the upper portion 8 of the screening baffle pivotally connected at its ends to cheek plates 2, 3 by arms 14, 18 moves vertically upwards pivoting about pins 13, 15, 17, 19. As shown in Fig. 3 bent spring steel rods 46 are clamped at one end to bar 45 and at the other ends 51 form a sieve-like section. As shown in Fig. 5 section 55 attached to cheek plates 2, 3 by arm 56 and pin 57 moves vertically upwards against helical compression springs 60 pivoting about pin 57. |
