<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make performable an overlay print only by print of a particular user without manual operation by the user to an overlay print request from an arbitrary host computer of the user connected to a network, without changing an existing print application program on the host computer side, or without increasing the transfer amount of print data, in relation to a network printer control device having an overlay print function. <P>SOLUTION: Address information of the host computer of the user is registered in an overlay control table. An address of the source of transmitted print data is read and stored by a receiving part of this control device.
