<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To totally and highly accurately inspect stereo image characteristics by means of a simple system for obtaining highly precise correction data for correcting dispersion of the image characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: A stereo camera 1 and an inspection screen 2 having a pattern based on lattice lines are arranged in previously decided relative positions. In two original images taken by photographing the inspection screen 2 by means of the stereo camera 1, coordinates of respective lattice points on the images are found by a stereo image characteristic detection part 12, and in a correction data forming part 13, correction data for correcting dispersion of the image characteristics are formed from the obtained coordinates of the respective lattice points and previously stored ideal coordinates of the lattice points. The correction data are written in a stereo image recognition unit 11 by a correction data writing part 14. In this way, in a readjustment time before/after shipment of the stereo camera 1 and the stereo image recognition unit 11, the stereo image characteristics are inspected for obtaining-highly precise correction data, and the ability of the device is maintained at a high level. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
