<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink composition which suppresses the generation of a hydrogen gas even when the treated surface of an aluminum pigment contained therein is damaged and which retains good properties in writing, can give written lines having a metallic appearance and brightness, and is excellent in storage stability. <P>SOLUTION: This water-based metallic ink composition for writing utensils contains a colorant, a water-soluble thickening resin, and a water-soluble organic solvent and further contains (a) 0.01-3.0 wt.% phosphate surfactant having an HLB of 10 or higher and comprising at least one compound selected from the group consisting of alkyl phosphates, polyoxyethylene alkyl ether phosphates, and their salts and (b) 0.01-30.0 wt.% aluminum powder pigment. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
