<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a blister phenomenon which occurs due to evaporation of moisture in coated paper which is caused when an excessive quantity of heat is applied to the paper, with the result that the moisture pushes up a coating layer making it difficult for the moisture to be discharged through the coating layer of the surface of the paper. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus having a fixing device which includes a pair of fixing rotary bodies 51 and 52 freely rotatably disposed in contact with each other, and thermally fixes an unfixed image on a recording material by transporting the recording material, the surface of which is coated, while firmly holding the material between them, a means 100 is provided for vaporizing moisture in the recording material before toner is transferred to the recording material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
