PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize and accurately detect steering angle of a steering wheel even immediately after the on-operation of an ignition switch. SOLUTION: A steering device comprises a steering angle sensor 62 for detecting the steering angle of a steering wheel 13, controls the rotation of an electric motor 67 according to the steering angle detected by the steering angle sensor 62 to steer right and left front wheels 44a and 44b. Steering reaction mechanisms such as a hydraulic cylinder 15 and springs 19a and 19b mechanically generating steering reactions and a steer torque sensor 63 are installed in an input part 10 having the steering wheel 13. The steer torque detected by the steer torque sensor 63 corresponds with the steer reaction, or is generally in proportion to the steer angle. By using them, before the zero-point of the steer angle sensor 62 is corrected, the steer angle is estimated and utilized based on the detected steer torque. Also, when the detected steer torque lowers below a specified value or less, the zero-point of the steer angle sensor 62 is corrected. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
