PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of parts for a motor scooter type vehicle, improve load efficiency of baggage, compactness, appearance of the vehicle and handleability of the vehicle by decreasing influence on vehicle center-of- gravity position by installing place of baggage. SOLUTION: The article storage device of a motor scooter type vehicle is equipped with a storage box capable of storing a helmet or the like under an operation seat and constituted so that an upper opening part of the storage box is opened and closed by the operation seat. The storage box 21 is provided with an extended storage part 39 extending backward rather than the rear end of the operation seat 22, and the top surface of the extended storage part 39 is made to be an approximately flat and approximately level loading surface 40 for baggage.
