PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid type base isolation device suitably used for base isolation of a low rise, lightweight structure. SOLUTION: This hybrid type base isolation device is constituted by combining a bearing support or the like devotedly supporting a vertical load of the low rise, lightweight upper part structure; stacked rubber generating restoring force devotedly restoring horizontal displacement of the upper structure; and a damper generating damping force restricting the horizontal displacement of the upper structure. The damper is vertically installed in almost the central part on the plane of the base isolation story, the upper end part and lower end part of the damper are joined with the upper structure and the lower structure so as to be capable of following the displacement in the whole direction of 2πrad, with a hinge such as a universal joint.
