PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound insulation structure near a ground portion in a low-pressure steam turbine, in which noise near the ground portion of the low-pressure steam turbine is reduced with simple structure. SOLUTION: A sound insulation board 15 is mounted on an external space 8 side near the ground portion 3 of the low-pressure steam turbine. The sound insulation board 15 is formed by sandwiching a soundproof material 16 between a punching metal 18 and a cover 17 to fix the outer periphery end of the cover 17 on an external casing 6 by using bolts 23. Thus, high-frequency noise caused by gland steam flow is effectively shielded. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
